Japan’s major tourist attractions

Tokyo
Japan modern capital city lacks the refined aesthetics of Kyoto, or the rest of Nara, but come up trumps with contemporary icons such as the forest of skyscrapers, the Shinjuku district, the bizarre gadgets at the Sony building and the hyper-fashionable street dominant fashion and exhibited boutiques in Harajuku. It has breathtaking scores of Buddhist temples, one of the best in the country, Zen gardens and pleasant district of wooden houses and traditional tea houses. Do not miss the 1001 gold-plated Buddha statues Sanjusanngen-do Temple, the Temple of the Silver Pavilion Ginkakuji, or inspiring Ryoan-ji rock garden.

Hiroshima
Many visitors to Japan to make a pilgrimage to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum excellent, balanced commemorate the dropping of the atomic bomb on 08.06.1945 here, and its terrible consequences. Only twenty minutes by ferry is on the small island of Miyajima, place one of the most beautifully situated Shinto shrines in Japan.

Mount Fuji
Although the way to the top of the iconic snow-capped summit in Japan has a grueling six hours, thousands of people make it to the summit of 3776 meters each summer.

Nikko
In a wooded park of huge mountains, lakes and waterfalls, this complex of elaborately carved and brightly painted temples and shrines looks especially great in the snow.

Nara
A popular side trip to Kyoto, and also a former capital, is dotted with temples and shrines, Nara respectable, especially the historical Todai-ji Temple, where a fifteen-meter-high bronze Buddha.

Walking in Kirishima National Park
the southern island of Kyushu, the most dramatic landscapes volcanis in the country, but nowhere more than in Kirishima National Park, the 23 summit has within its borders. There are many trails here, struts, plus waterfalls, a spectacular gorge and an outdoor hot spring.

Hokkaido
The northernmost of Japan’s four main islands is the wildest and least populated. The volcanic landscape with its lakes and forests, making it perfect for walking: Shiretoko National Park especially rewarding, dotted with lakes connected by paths, plus natural hot springs and challenging trails.
